Colour aerial photograph of the bay of Vathy on Kalymnos, photographed from the north. Depicted is the elongated inlet with deep blue waters cutting between the rocky, barren and steep slopes of the Profitis Ilias mountain range. At its far end can be seen the small settlement with its harbour and the few cultivated plots. The southern mountain slope is crossed by the winding road connecting Vathy westwards along the coast with Chora and eastwards with the inland area.
