
Votive altar at the archaeological site of Delos
Parissis Romylos
Colour photograph of an altar from the archaeological site of Delos, photographed by R. Parissis in 1976. It is a cylindrical marble altar decorated in relief with ox skulls and garlands of flowers and fruits. On its lower section bears a dedicatory inscription by the dedicator Isidoros, son of Isidoros, from Athens to the goddess Isis, protectress of sailors.
