Depicted is the dense urban fabric of the town spreading amphitheatrically around the large bay, with white and coloured houses extending to the foothills of the Profitis Ilias mountain range (north–north-west), Saint Savvas hill (east) and towards the Castle of Chrysocheria inland (west). In the harbour can be seen the piers, numerous moored vessels and the waterfront road forming the centre of the island’s activity.
