She wears the “kavai”, the most characteristic and formal festive costume worn by both younger and older women of Olympos. It consists of an inner embroidered cotton dress with lace, an outer woven dress in light black or dark blue (kavai), a belt, a brocade apron with colourful braids and a headscarf.
